We are five minutes from the Mudgeeraba village, up Bonogin Road. Close enough that we quote a lot of Mudgeeraba jobs the same week they are called in.
Mudgeeraba is not one type of suburb, though, and the tree work reflects that, and we cover every service on the home page across all of it.
The old village and the streets around it. Quarter acre blocks, older houses, and mature backyard trees planted in the seventies and eighties. Mangoes and avocados that have got too tall to pick. Poincianas and jacarandas that have spread wider than the yard. Camphor laurels that were a nice idea forty years ago and are now enormous, with roots into the sewer line.
The newer estates. Smaller lots, houses closer to the boundary, and a lot of trees planted at handover that are now hitting the eaves. Tight side access is the norm. Everything usually has to come out through a gate rather than over a fence.
The acreage fringe. Blocks running out toward Bonogin and Springbrook, with native gums and remnant bushland. Different job entirely, closer to the work we do in Bonogin.
The species mix reflects that history: natives out west, and a lot of introduced and planted species through the older suburban streets. Along Mudgeeraba Creek, camphor laurel has naturalised heavily and does not belong there.
A backyard tree that has outgrown a suburban block. Usually a poinciana, camphor laurel, mango or a big gum, planted when the block felt bigger. The owner does not want it gone, they want it manageable. That is a crown reduction, done properly so it does not shoot back twice as thick.
Cocos palms. Mudgeeraba backyards are full of them, self-sown along fence lines and behind sheds. They drop fruit, attract rats and seed into the creek reserve. They are usually treated as a pest species rather than protected vegetation, which makes removal simpler than people expect.
Most Mudgeeraba jobs come down to a gate.
If the only way from the backyard to the truck is a 900 millimetre gap between the house and the fence, that determines everything: what machine can get in, how the material comes out, and how many hours the job takes. It is also the single biggest reason quotes vary between operators, because some price it as though the truck can back up to the tree.
We check the access at the quote, every time. If it needs to come out by hand, we tell you that and price it honestly rather than adding it on afterwards.
Mudgeeraba is Gold Coast City Council, and here the standard suburban exemptions do most of the work.
Trees under four metres tall and under 40 centimetres in trunk circumference measured at 1.3 metres above ground fall below council’s size test and are not assessable vegetation. Neither is vegetation close to an approved building or a fence line, within distances that scale with lot size, and on a typical suburban block those distances are tighter than out on acreage. Identified pest species, including cocos palms, are treated differently again.
Where a block sits in a vegetation management or environmental overlay, particularly closer to the creek or out toward the acreage fringe, approval is more likely. We check the mapping for your address before we quote.

The crew works the tree down in a planned sequence, everything gets chipped as it comes out, and the site is raked and blown clean. On tight suburban blocks that clean-up matters, because there is nowhere to stash a pile of debris out of the way.
Stump grinding can be added on the same visit, which is the cheapest way to do it.
If you have a few things that need doing, get them all quoted at once. Two trees, a palm and a stump in one visit costs considerably less than four separate call-outs, because setup and travel are most of the fixed cost on a small job.
