One of the most common complaints about tree jobs is that the crew takes the tree, then leaves the stump sitting there and calls it your problem. A stump isn’t just an eyesore. It’s a trip hazard, it can sucker and regrow, and it can draw termites in close to the house. Still need the tree gone too? That’s tree removal, and palm removal for the palms. Either way, we grind stumps out properly, below ground level, so you can turf over it, replant, or lay whatever you want on top.
A stump cut flush at ground level looks done, but the root ball’s still sitting there. Grinding below the surface is what lets you replant or turf without a dead lump in the way, and it’s what stops a lot of species suckering back up through your new lawn. How deep we go depends on what you’re doing with the space afterwards, so tell us the plan, whether it’s grass, a garden bed, a shed or paving, and we’ll grind to suit it.

Send a photo of the stump and roughly where it is on the block, and we’ll quote it. We deal with the ones other people said were too big, too close to the house, or too awkward to get a machine to.
The main things are the size of the stump, the species and how hard the timber is, how many you’ve got, how easy it is to get a machine to them, and how deep you need it ground for what’s going in afterwards. Surface roots and haul-away of the grindings can add to it. We look at the lot and give you one fixed price in writing.
We come out or work from your photos, give you a fixed written price, and book a time that suits. Once it’s booked we confirm the day before and call you the morning of. On the day, the stump’s ground out below the surface, the grindings are cleaned up or left to backfill as you prefer, and the area’s left tidy and ready for whatever’s next.
We run machines that fit through a standard side gate, so a stump in the backyard or a courtyard usually isn’t a problem, and for the big hardwood and palm stumps we bring the gear to match. Once it’s ground out, the spot’s ready for whatever’s next, turf, a garden bed, paving or a shed pad, without a buried root ball in the way. Not sure a machine will fit?
