You can get a number over the phone from plenty of operators. The problem is that the number changes once they see the job.
Access is the thing nobody can judge from a photo. How far the tree is from where we can park the truck. Whether the loader fits down the side. Whether that back fence has to come out. Whether there is a pool, a shed, a septic line or a neighbour’s carport in the drop zone. Those factors move a price more than the height of the tree does.
So we come out, walk the site, and give you a written price for the actual job. What you are quoted is what you pay, unless you ask us to change the scope.
Step one, we book a site visit. You get a booking confirmation. On the day you will receive an ETA with live tracking so you can see when we will arrive instead of waiting around.
Step two, we assess. We look at the tree, the access, the surrounds and anything else that affects the job. While we are there we will give you a free visual health check on your other trees and honest advice on what does and does not need doing.
Step three, you get a written quote. Scope and price, in writing, so there are no surprises.
Step four, you book if you are happy. Confirmation on booking, a reminder a week out, another 48 hours before. Depending on the job we can usually schedule within a few weeks, and we hold some capacity back for urgent work
Step five, the work happens. On the day ETA and live tracking when the team is on the way. We do the job and clean up.
Step six, you get the invoice. Due within seven days, with bank details on it. For bigger multi-day bookings we may take a 10% deposit before the booking stage.
Our team rate is $660 per hour, calculated across an eight hour day. That is not one person with a chainsaw. For that rate you get:
We also offer a discounted full day rate of $4,400, which covers roughly 7.5 hours on site and can stretch to eight where needed.
Four people plus that machinery is what lets a job finish in one day instead of three, and a shorter job is a smaller invoice. That is the whole reason we are set up this way.
Most residential jobs are quoted as a fixed price rather than by the hour, so you know the total before we start.

It speeds things up if you can tell us:
Roughly how many trees, and how big (a comparison to your roofline is fine). Where they are on the block, front or back. Whether a truck can get near them, or whether everything has to come out by hand through a side gate. What you want to happen: full removal, a reduction, a clean-up, or just an opinion. Whether you want the mulch or firewood left behind.
