And the price, because a cheap quote has a habit of growing once the chainsaw’s out and the “it’s bigger than we thought” conversation starts. We handle both up front. You get a fixed written price with the cleanup included, and we’ve got the gear and the rigging experience to get a big tree down in a tight spot without touching what’s around it.
Where there’s room, we drop it. Where there isn’t, we climb and rig it, lowering each section down under control so nothing lands where it shouldn’t. That’s the skill we built doing the jobs other crews knocked back, trees with a pool on one side and a fence on the other and a metre of clearance in between. We won’t hide behind “every job’s different,” so here’s what actually moves the number. The size and species matter, a mature hardwood is a much bigger job than a soft-timber tree of the same height. So does how close it is to things we have to protect, how easily we can get gear to it, and whether it needs climbing and rigging or can simply be felled. Then there’s the finish: whether you want the stump ground and the mulch hauled away, or left on site. We work all that out at the quote and put one fixed price in writing. For the record, we work to a team rate of $660 an hour, with a discounted full-day rate of $4,400 for around 7.5 hours on site, and most residential removals are quoted as one fixed price after we’ve seen the tree, so you know the number before we start.
We come out, assess the tree, check whether it’s protected, and give you a fixed price in writing on the spot with cleanup included. Once it’s booked we confirm the day before and let you know the morning of. On the day, the tree comes down in a controlled way, everything’s chipped as it goes, and the site’s left left clean. Mulch stays if you want it for the garden.
Most single-tree removals are a day or less once we’re on site, and smaller ones often get done the same visit as the quote if you’re ready to go. The timber doesn’t go to waste: it’s chipped into mulch on the spot, which you can keep for the garden or we’ll cart away. Nothing gets left stacked in the yard for you to deal with later, and the stump’s ground out too if you’ve added it to the quote.
Often, yes. On the Gold Coast, most trees on private land need council approval to remove, with exemptions for things like distance from a building or fence (scaled to your lot size) and pest species. We check it at the quote.
